Mary Cowie in 1850 having another 3 sons & 1 daughter
John died at Lauderdale Ballarat 12 August 1875

Born William Irving Winter 20 February 1840 Edinburgh, Scotland. Son of John Winter & Janet (nee Irving). Arriving in Australia as an infant in 1841
Educated at Scotch College Melbourne 1852
Married Frances Amelia (nee Taylor) 30 June 1868
William & Frances had 5 sons & 6 daughters & adopted Charlotte Waters
In January 1889 he changed his name to Winter-Irving by Royal Letter
William died at Noorilim (Dandenong) 28 June 1901
